Sarah Jewell Managing Director
In the year 2000, Sarah established S J Associates (in 2003 became Incorporated and is now known as SJA International Ltd).
Sarah has an excellent reputation within the insurance market and is recognised for providing an excellent service to her clients. Sarah has created a philosophy for SJA International Ltd to be a centre of excellence and to ensure that all our clients receive an exemplary service.
In 2001 Sarah established à la carte healthcare a provider of international private medical insurance for those living and working abroad.
Sarah Petras Client Management Director
Before joining SJA International Ltd in May 2004, Sarah-Louise worked for the previous four years for an intermediary specialising in all aspects of Private Medical Insurance including International PMI and Group Risk products.
Sarah-Louise has continued to expand her knowledge in all areas of healthcare with her attention focusing on business development and continuing relationships with her existing portfolio.
Outside of work, Sarah's interests include keeping fit and has recently taken up playing badminton again. Other interests are reading and baking. She also enjoys adding to her increasing shoe collection!
Sheena Young Associate Director/PA
Having spent the majority of her career working in various advertising and marketing roles, Sheena returned to the Private Medical industry in October 2005 and joined SJA International as Office Manager/PA to the Managing Director.
Since that time her role has evolved considerably and Sheena continues to cover a wide variety of Office Management roles including Human Resources, Health & Safety, IT and Print/Production to name but a few.
In her spare time Sheena enjoys going to the gym, pilates, badminton, rugby (spectator only) and gardening. She also enjoys baking and strangely enough is popular with her work colleagues when she provides cupcakes!
Lucy Firth Account Executive
Lucy joined SJA International in May 2008 having previously worked as support staff to an Independent Financial Adviser for 20 months dealing with all aspects of pensions, investments, mortgages and protection.
Since joining SJA International Lucy continues to develop her knowledge of Individual and Group Private Medical Insurance, Group Risk, Dental and Travel products.
In her spare time Lucy plays netball for three different local leagues each week and is currently training for her Grade C netball umpiring award. She also enjoys live music and hill walking.
Gillian Jackson Head of Finance
Gillian joined the SJA team in August 2010, and this is her first step into the world of insurance.
Gillian is a Chartered Certified Accountant and has previously worked for manufacturing companies supplying products globally.
Outside of work Gillian loves to sing and became Worthing's Theatre Singer of the Year in 2012 in the Worthing Music and Arts Festival. Gillian also sings with JuSSt Voices, a local choir and is a member of Worthing Musical Comedy Society. Gillian's husband enjoys competing in triathlons around the country, however, Gillian is happy just to help organise and marshal events with Raw Energy Pursuits, rather than take part herself!
Lauren Kingston
Lauren joined the SJA finance team in June 2011 having previously worked in accountancy practice. Lauren in AAT qualified and is currently studying towards her ACCA qualification.
Lauren enjoys competing with her horses, Duke and Evo, and has enjoyed numerous successes including qualifying for, and competing at the Royal International Horse Show and Horse of the Year Show.
