Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP)

When an employee has a problem at work or at home, performance in the workplace can be affected. Many employers are currently looking for ways to address this. An estimated 91.5 million working days are lost each year as a result of stress, costing UK business up to £7 billion each year*

The risk of litigation is increasing as UK legislation moves closer in line with EU employee protection law as regards the employer’s duty of care.

Introducing an EAP can help in dealing with issues such as bullying, harassment, stress, legal and financial problems. In many cases problems can be addressed before they escalate and begin to affect employees’ performance.

An EAP may also help to reduce the risk of litigation for businesses by enabling them to demonstrate their duty of care to their employees.
